等无间缘

(samanantarah-pratyaya); 'incessant causation', 'cause equally without gap.' One of the 'four causes' 四缘 (siyuan) in Yoga^ca^ra 瑜伽行派 theory. Also called 次第缘. The condition of one existence directly producing the next with no interruption. In the continuing mind, the subsequent mind and mental functions are inherited from the prior moment's mind and mental functions. The prior thought-moment as condition for the next thought-moment. This is Xuanzang's translation of the term; Parama^rtha translated it as 次第缘.
