Chitsu^A Japanese monk of the Hosso^ sect. In 657，in accord with an imperial decree， he went together with Chidatsu （智达）， taking a Korean boat to China. He studied with Xuanzang 玄奘， learning the Faxiang 法相 doctrine. Upon returning to Japan， he taught as the second line of transmission of the Hosso^ sect in Japan.
