The theory of newly perfumated seeds， as opposed to the theory of "originally existent seeds （本有说）." The Consciousness-only 唯识 theory which maintains that the seeds 种子 in the a^laya-vijn~a^na 阿赖耶识 are not originally existent， but are newly perfumated. This theory was posited by Nanda （难陀） and Jayasena （胜军）. The Faxiang school 法相宗 in China proposed that the a^laya-vijn~a^na 藏识 had both "newly perfumated" and "originally existent" aspects.
